James Avos Hoover, 83, Lavaca passed away Saturday January 21, 2012 in Fort Smith.
He was born September 28, 1928 in Central City, AR.
He attended Lavaca First Baptist Church and was in the Donnie Green's Sunday School Class. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was the overseer of the German Prisoners of War at Fort Chaffee. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion and was a 32nd degree mason with the Masonic Lodge in Barling.
Funeral service will be held 2PM Monday at Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston, Burial will follow in the Oak Valley Cemetery, Lavaca, AR, under the direction of Smith Mortuary.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Bellajo Wise Hoover, of Lavaca; one daughter Sandra J. Flippin and husband Dwight of Lavaca; one granddaughter Michelle McClure and husband Gerrad of Lavaca; two great grandchildren Jacob and Joseph McClure of Lavaca.
Both James parents were involved in a fatal car wreck in November of 1957, Sarah died that day and Amos died about two weeks later.
