He married Mary A. Nance in Benton CO, TN on January 09, 1845. Following the passing of his first wife, he married Hannah Adeline Lynch.
William lived in Benton CO, TN in the 1860 and 1870 Federal Census Records.
William and his family were among the families from the Benton, Henry & Carroll Counties area of TN who left during, and in the years following, the Civil War. Many of these families went to Southern IL...mainly the Williamson and Jackson Counties area. The TN community was literally "torn apart" from not only the Civil War conflict itself, but also from the hard feelings that occurred as a result of "neighbors fighting neighbors," due to the split in loyalties in the area.
