LAVACA — Vance Wilson, 81, of Lavaca died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, in Fayetteville. He was born Jan. 14, 1927, in Lavaca. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of the VFW, a retired concrete finisher and an Army veteran.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston with burial at Hickory Ridge Cemetery northeast of Lavaca.
He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Cotta of Alma and Shandra Wilson of Cecil; three sons, Greg and Kenneth Wilson, both of Lavaca, and David Wilson of Fort Smith; four sisters, Hazel Parker of Muskogee, Okla., Cleo Turk and Helen Jones, both of Lavaca, and Shirley Scott of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Donald Wilson of Charleston; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Greg, David and Kenneth Wilson, Steve Gann, Rocky Williams and Rick Johnson.
