Doreen Dumas Bailey, 66 of El Dorado passed away at her home on Monday, August 31, 2015.
Mrs. Bailey was born July 28, 1949 in Monroe, LA to the union of Allen Marvin Dumas and Joan King Dumas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother Johnny Dumas.
Mrs. Bailey was co-owner of Freedom Bail Bond Co. and dealt in rental property in the area. She was a freelance writer, and author of Sentimental Journal and Animal Stories among other books. She was an animal lover and was a very creative person. She was a member of South Arkansas Writers, and South Arkansas Poets of the Pines and the Union County Genealogy Society.
Survivors include her husband; Ricky Bailey, son; Kenny Bailey, both of El Dorado, step-daughter; Lisa Cowell and husband Keith of Australia, a step-son; Richard Hicks and wife Fonda of Mississippi, five step-grandchildren; Devin, Grant, Kendall, Zachary, and Jeremy, one sister; Barbara Dumas of El Dorado, and her special canine friend; Peggy Sue.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2015 in the Chapel of Bailey Funeral Home, with Bro. Delmas Jones and Bro. Wayne Sinclair officiating. Interment will be in the Burns-Ebenezer Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado.
Pallbearers will be; Ed Slaughter, Charles Conner, Mark Conner, Danny Sinclair, Grant Sinclair and Trent Sinclair.
