Jun 6, 1952 - Apr 24, 2023

Milo Dianne Mattinson of Little Rock, Arkansas, formerly of Hamburg, died at St. Vincent Infirmary on April 24th, 2023. She was born on June 6, 1952 to Milo Clyde and Elizabeth Ann Bankston Mattinson.

She attended Hall High School where she discovered her passion for music. A gifted pianist, Dianne studied at Baylor University and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. One of her most memorable life events was the summer she studied in Vienna, which was made possible by Genevive DeHaven Emmerling through the Little Rock Musical Coterie.

Dianne was a member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral since 1973, where she sang in the choir and played handbells. She was an Anglican through and through with an affinity for all things British, especially the monarchy.

She taught music lessons at Stanton Road School and served as the accompanist for several choirs and voice studios throughout Little Rock. She was the church pianist at Parkview Christian Church from 2005 until 2019 and then at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church from 2022 until her death.

Dianne was happiest when surrounded by dear friends whom she considered to be family. She truly celebrated spending time with those she loved. A wonderful cook, she delighted in throwing dinner parties where she attended to every detail. Her genuine love for others was one of her many endearing qualities.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Frances Irene Mattinson; her brother, Barry Clyde Mattinson; her grandparents, Vernon Edgar and Frances Daniel Bankston, Mercil Bankston, Ray Mattinson and Bessie Irene Brown Mattinson Dailey; her beloved cat, Chrissy, and her sweetheart darling of more than 40 years, Richard Colburn Butler III.

Dianne is survived by her many friends and her cat Ebony, all of whom miss her dearly.

Services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral on May 5th at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Dianne’s friends ask that donations be made to a local animal shelter.
