Mr. John Hinemon McCombs, 85, of Hot Springs, formerly of Hamburg, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013, at the Springdale Health and Rehabilitation Center in Springdale. Mr. McCombs was born in Ashley County on October 30, 1927, to Ashton Pugh McCombs, Sr. and Eugenia Reynolds Hinemon McCombs. He was a resident of the Hot Springs area for 25 years and a resident of Springdale for the past month. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War; he attended Arkansas College in Batesville and he was a lifelong member of the Hamburg Presbyterian Church. He loved playing tennis and attending Razorback sporting events.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, two brothers, Ashton Pugh McCombs, Jr., and Robert Barnard McCombs.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Joyce Denton McCombs, of Arkadelphia, a niece, Mary McCombs Whipple, of Arkadelphia, and a nephew, Ashton Pugh McCombs, III of Fayetteville.

A graveside funeral service and interment will be held 2 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2013 in the Hamburg Cemetery with Rev. Greg Comer officiating. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
