Diana "Moo Moo" Oswalt, 72 of El Dorado, AR passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at her home in El Dorado.
She was born August 3, 1945 in Union County, AR to the union of Clifton Alphin and Gurtha Lee Sinclair Alphin.
Mrs. Oswalt was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Don Alphin.
She graduated from SAU and in later years received her Masters Degree. She began teaching in 1967 in Willisville, AR and then moved on to El Dorado in 1968, where she remained until finally retiring in 2008. Over the years she was an Elementary School Teacher, Principal, and continued after retirement as a Math Mentor, Reading Mentor and other specialized fields as needed by the district.
She was a loving Mother and Moo Moo and loved being an educator and reading to her grandchildren.
Survivors include her two children, Crystal Oswalt-Tanner and husband James, and Chad Oswalt and wife Marie, her former husband, Gary Don Oswalt, eight grandchildren, Kaylyn, Ben, Amy, Abby, Blake, Cameron, Phyantashia, and Cario, one great grandson, Landen, a sister-in-law, Margaret Alphin, two nieces, Dohnna Williams and husband Robbie and Lauralyn Ramsey and husband Howard, one great nephew, Taylor Ramsey. And Molly.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2017 at Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in El Dorado, with Rev. Steve Pelz officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado, AR.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to El Dorado School District to benefit the Hugh Goodwin Elementary School Library, 200 West Oak Street, El Dorado, AR 71730
