Janie PICKERING GRIFFIN

Rest Haven Memorial Gardens and Mausoleums Cemetery
Union County,
Arkansas

July 14, 1949- July 30, 2021

Janie Griffin, 72, of El Dorado, passed away on July 30, 2021 at her home.
She was born on July 14, 1949 in El Dorado to Powell and Mary Pickering. After graduating from El Dorado High School in 1967 her first job out of high school was as an employee of First National Bank.

She worked at Parkview Baptist Church with more than 30 years of service as church secretary until her retirement in 2016.

She loved, without fail, her children, cats, reading, and watching Sunday Westerns.

She had a dry sense of humor unmatched by most. If you were close to her, you knew she was the funniest friend you had. She was hilarious, empathetic, and quietly hilarious.

She is survived by her daughter, Allison Griffin, of Fayetteville, her son, Matthew Griffin, of El Dorado, John Pickering of El Dorado, Julie Pickering of Dallas, Texas, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by parents Powell and Mary Pickering, and sister Celi Paciello, and the father of her children, Bobby Joe Griffin.

A celebration of Janie’s life will be held Tuesday, August 3 at 11 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to service at Parkview Baptist. A private graveside service will follow.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to UCAPS, P.O. Box 204, El Dorado, AR 71730. She adored animals!
