Joseph Carroll Murphy, III "The Drummer", 64, of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away July 15, 2017. He was born September 4, 1952 in Van Nuys, California to Joseph C. Murphy, Jr. and Virgie Lee Delaney Murphy.

Mr. Murphy was a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and he was a proud member of the North Little Rock and Sherwood Rotary Clubs and Good Shepard United Methodist Church. For over fifty years, Mr. Murphy was in the nursery, lawn and shrub health care business. He owned and operated Arkansas Nurseries and Horticare Consultants. Mr. Murphy, a Certified Nurseryman, was a long time member of both the Arkansas and American Association of Nurserymen.

Mr. Murphy was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Murphy is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Marion Barrett Lenkerd Murphy; his son, Joseph C. Murphy, IV (Adrienne); grandson, Elijah Cael McMillan Murphy; step-sons, Frank Lenkerd (Kerrie) and John Lenkerd (Cory); step-grandchildren, Jessica, Matthew, Ryan, Kimberly and Brooklyn; sister, Linda Murphy Norton (George); niece, Mary Elizabeth Norton Austin (Sean); nephew, Andrew Norton (Barrett); and three great-nephews, Tucker, Henry, and Brooks. Mr. Murphy is also survived by his beloved cousins, Varina, Janie, Sally, Rick, Greg, Stacy and their spouses along with other cherished cousins and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lakewood United Methodist Church or to a charity of your choice. No flowers or plants, Please!

Mr. Murphy's family will receive friends and family from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., July 21, 2017 at Lakewood United Methodist Church. Memorial service and Inurnment will be held on July 22, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Lakewood United Methodist Church with Reverend Bryan Fulwider of Orlando, Florida and Reverend Luke Conway officiating.
