Marjorie Porter Murph, 80 of El Dorado, went to be with her Lord, Monday, October 26, 2015, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. She was born March 5, 1935, in El Dorado, the youngest daughter of Cecil Porter and Alice Hornady Porter.

She was a homemaker and a life-long member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She graduated from El Dorado High School. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Marjorie enjoyed reading Christian Fiction and Battlefield hunting with her husband, Bruce G. Murph, Sr., who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents; three brothers, James, Bill and Vaughn Porter; and three sisters, Mary Lou Hampp, Dorothy Towler, and Faye Neighbors.

She is survived by her son, Bruce G. “Jerry” Murph, Jr. and his wife, Kathy; her daughter, Carmen Teresa Murph Smith and her husband, David Keith; a step-daughter, Aleta Reed all of El Dorado; three grandchildren, Cherie Carpenter and her husband, Jeremy of Lowell, AR, Whitney Murph of Little Rock, David Murph of Parkers Chapel; step-grandson, Will Reed of El Dorado; great grandson, Jackson Carpenter of Lowell, AR; and special nieces, Rhonda Maples, Danielle Wolf and Madelyn Wolf all of Bossier City, LA.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Young’s Funeral Directors.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Pelz officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the Direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Memorials may be made to the John R. Williamson Hospice House, 2301 Champagnolle Rd., El Dorado, AR 71730, or to the Ebenezer Baptist Church Building Fund, 3408 N. Wyatt Dr., El Dorado, AR 71730.
