Mr. Jimmy Lee Martin, 65, of Hamburg, died Friday,
September 26, 2014 at the Drew Memorial Hospital in
Monticello. Mr. Martin was a native and life long resident of
Hamburg. He graduated from Hamburg High School in
1968. He was the owner of Jimmy L. Martin Construction
Company and he retired from the Hamburg Fire Department
after 20 years of service. He was a member of the
Martinville Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and a
member of the Johnny Martin Hunting Club.
He is preceded in death by two grandchildren, Michael Drake
& Meghan Brooke Martin; his parents, James Haywood
“Woodie” and Dorothy Callaway Martin.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debbie Kusturin
Martin of Hamburg; two sons, Neil Martin and wife, Wendi,
of Monticello and John Martin and wife, Andrea, of
Hamburg; five brothers, James E. “Sonny” Martin and wife,
Charlene, of Crossett, Joe Martin and wife, Pat, Freddie
Martin and wife, Joy, Bobby Martin and wife, Sylvia, and
Randy Martin and wife, Lacey; three sisters, Dorothy Savage
and husband, Bo, Gladys Gulledge and husband, Edward, and
Judy Bates and husband, Gene, all of Hamburg; a brother-in-law, Larry Kusturin and wife, Gail, of Little Rock; six
grandchildren, Miguel Taylor, Amber Martin, Emily Martin,
Jordan Martin, Reghan Martin and Jaci Martin and a host of
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at
the Martinville Baptist Church with Bro. Ryan McRae and
Bro. Gene Gregory officiating. Burial will be in the
Hamburg Cemetery. Pallbearers are Nick Martin, Paul
Gulledge, James Martin, Brad Martin, Blake Martin, Brian
Martin and Nick Akers. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry
Elizandro, Willie Elizandro, Terry Cain, John Herbert
Martin, Terry Martin, Jamie Martin, Gary Callaway and
Dusty Callaway. Memorials may be made to Arkansas
Children’s Hospital, 1 Children’s Way, Little Rock, AR
72202-3591.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the church.
