*Obituary
David "Lee" Leroy Shinn, 71, of Conway, AR, went to be with the Lord Monday, July 22, 2019. He was born March 27, 1948 in Dumas, AR, to William and Helen (Wrinkle) Shinn. He is preceded in death by his father, William David Shinn.
Lee served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Cambodia as a front-line ammunition truck driver. After returning from the Vietnam conflict, he drove 18 wheelers for 40 years as his chosen career. Throughout the years, race cars became his passion and as a result of this passion, he won many races and trophies. Lee had a great sense of humor and was the family prankster, but he also he never met a stranger he wasn't willing to help. Lee was the back bone of his family, and his integrity and generosity were an inspiration to all. His calm demeanor allowed him to "fix" any situation and he was literally, "everything to everyone, at all times". His "bear hugs" will be missed the most by all those who love him.
Left to cherish his memory is her loving family; his mother, Helen Marie (Wrinkle) Shinn; children, Chad Shinn (Kandy Nix), Nena Jensen (Joel) and Sandy Wheeler (Robert); grandchildren, Morgan Shinn, Madison Shinn, Eric Whisnant (Devyn), Landon Whisnant, Hanna Whisnant and Megan Lovett; great-grandchildren, Ally, William, and one on the way; siblings, Jimmy Shinn (Barbara), Carolyn Hoffman, Julia Yarberry (Paul) and Diane Corbin (Darrell); and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be 6-8:00 pm, Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. A graveside service will be 10:00 am, Friday, July 26th at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
