Charles Lindy Mayfield, age 86 of Luling, LA entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 20, 2014. Beloved husband of Bernuce Ladd Mayfield for 65 years. Son of the late Clovis D. Mayfield and Lena Jackson Mayfield. Loving and devoted father of Charles Dwain Mayfield (Wife Emily), David Allen Mayfield and Steven Lee Mayfield (Wife Kelli). Grandfather of Blake, Sydney, Jake, Tyler, Laura Lee, Jeremiah, Gabriel and Hannah. Lindy moved to Luling from Arkansas with Lion Oil Company. He was a resident of Luling for 60 years. Lindy graduated from Southeastern University in Durant, Oklahoma. He served two years with the Oklahoma 45 Division of the National Guard; six months of duty was in Korea during the Korean War. He retired from Union Carbide after 17 years of service. He was also a Charter Member of the Bible Center Church in Luling, LA. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Salvation Army. Visitation will be held at Bible Center Church, 422 Barton Avenue, Luling, LA on Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 5:30PM until 7PM. Funeral Services will be held at the church on Sunday at 7PM. Interment will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery in El Dorado, Arkansas on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 2PM. MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA in charge of arrangements.
