Melvin McCloy III, 85, of El Dorado, AR; died on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Life Touch Hospice's John R Williamson Hospice House.
Born on February 2, 1935 in McGehee, AR; Melvin was the son of William M. McCloy Jr. and Agnes Howell McCloy. He was a retired insurance agent for American General. A charter member of Pine Hill Country Club in Smackover. He was very proud of his six holes in ones. In his youth he loved duck hunting and fishing. Melvin’s kindness was shown by his feeding of stray dogs he came across in his travels. Melvin was of the Baptist faith.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Art McCloy.

Survivors are his wife of 63 years Bennie Sawyer McCloy; a daughter Donna McCloy of Magnolia; sons Bill McCloy (Tammy) and Mike McCloy (Kim), both of El Dorado; grandchildren Kris McCloy, Randall McCloy, Olivia Howard (Gerald), Morgan Parry (Craig) and Lauren Roberts (Matt), along with great grandchildren Kaden, Hudson and Beckett McCloy, Trey Howard, Nora Kate Parry, and a sister Wanda Fitzpatrick (Armand) of Little Rock.

In keeping with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations regarding public gatherings there will be no public visitation or services at this time. Arrangements for a memorial will be announced by Young's Funeral Directors at a later date.
