Robert Gregory Schichtl, 80, of Conway, Arkansas, died on May 8, 2022. He was born December 23, 1941 in Conway to the late George M. and Anna Mae (Halter) Schichtl. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Lynn Schichtl; sister, Anna Mae "Pete" and her husband John W. "Doc" Hart; brother, George Joseph Schichtl; sister, Magdelen Rose "Della" and her husband, Alvin "Al" Duclos; William Earl Schichtl; Edward Jerome Schichtl and his wife, Shirley Schichtl; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou and Angel Schichtl.
Robert was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a graduate of St. Joseph High School, a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, graduate of Empire Heavy Equipment Operators School, Inc., member of the Union of Operating Engineers and retired from Nabholz Construction Company as a Senior Vice-President.
He was married to Shelby Jean (Powell) Schichtl for 59 years. Robert is survived by wife, Shelby; sons, Robert Gregory Schichtl, II (Greg) and wife, Lisa Schichtl and Eric Lee Schichtl; grandchildren, Erika Schichtl, Chelsa and Mario De La Riva; Kenny and Maranda Schichtl; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Nathanial, Danya, Landon and Chandler; brothers, James Lawson Schichtl, Thomas Leo and his wife, Carol Schichtl, Roy Franklin "Butch" Schichtl and sisters-in-laws, Beth and Joy Schichtl.
A rosary will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Henderson Cemetery in Greenbrier at a later date. Honorary Pallbearers will be all nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the St. Joseph School Endowment Fund.
A special thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Baptist Health Medical Center in Conway for the exceptional care he received.
