Woodrow W. Gentry
SPRINGDALE -- Woodrow W. Gentry, 88, of Springdale died Dec. 13, 2002, at his home. He was born March 14, 1914, in Belton to Dr. James Eli Gentry and Mary Ellen Compton Gentry. He married Waldine Williams on Dec. 27, 1938. He was an Air Force veteran of World Wat II, serving in the European Theater in Northern Africa and Italy. He retired from the Air Force as a colonel. He and his wife moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1972 from San Antonio, Texas. He was a member of the Retired Officers Association and the First United Methodist Church in Rogers. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Waldine of the home; two sons, Jerry Gentry of Springdale and retired Army Col. John E. Gentry and wife Paulette of Pampa, Fla.; one sister, Wenona Cox of Conroe, Texas; one nephew, Dr. Bill Gentry of Arkadelphia; two nieces, Carolyn Johnson of Conroe and Mary Lou Cox of Pine Bluff; three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Rogers. Burial will be in National Cemetery at Fayetteville.

Military honors will be conducted by Rogers American Legion Post 100.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Methodist Church Building Committee in Rogers and Circle of Life Hospice, P.O. Box 349, 610 E. Emma Ave., Springdale, 72764.

SPRINGDALE -- Waldine Gentry, 91, of Springdale died June 18, 2004, at her home. She was born Oct. 22, 1912, in Blevins to William and Nora Ricketts Williams. She was a teacher and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rogers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Woodrow W. Gentry, on Dec. 13, 2002, and one son, Jerry Gentry.

Survivors include one son, retired Col. John Gentry of Valrico, Fla.; one sister, Virginia Graf of Shreveport, La.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Callison-Lough Funeral Service in Rogers with the Rev. Davis Thompson officiating.
