Paul DeBoard
BENTONVILLE -- Paul DeBoard,63, of Bentonville died Oct. 17, 2002, at Bate4s Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born Aug. 7, 1939, in Big Stone Gap, Va., to Sam and Ollie Coomer DeBoard. He served two tours during the Vietnam War while in the Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being out in nature. He played baseball while in the Army and was drafted by a major-league team as a catcher. He was unable to play in the majors because he had to fulfill his obligation to the Army. He owned and operated a commercial painting company for many years and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Francisco-DeBoard of the home; two sons, Alan E. Francisco of Taylorville, Ill., and G. Andrew Francisco and wife Sonia of Matthews, N.C.; two daughters, Shelly Rene Thompson of Salem, Ind., and Ayla Elyse DeBoard of Bentonville; two brothers, James DeBoard of Salem, Ind., and Fran DeBoard of Big Ston Gap; two sisters, Charlene Caldwell of Salem and Bess Maxfield of Ponca City, Okla.; five grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Fayetteville National Cemetery with Emie Watson officiating. Full military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 100 of Rogers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in honor of Paul DeBoard.
Cremation and memorial arrangements are by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.
