On September 22, 1946, James Floyd and Virginia Riley Scott became first-time parents when Mary Ann was born at the Crossett Health Center. She was a 1964 graduate of Fountain Hill High School and still kept in contact with long-ago classmates. In 1997 she fulfilled a lifelong dream when she completed a business degree at UAM. She joined First Baptist Church in 1979 and became a member of the Maxine Murphy Sunday School Class. For the past 15 years she has been a member of the Jimmy Murphy Sunday School Class. She loved birthdays, hers and everyone else's that she knew. She enjoyed contacting people on their special day.

Mary Ann departed this life on February 10, 2023 at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett, Arkansas.

In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was predeceased by her only brother, James Shelby Scott, on April 27, 2020.

Mary Ann is survived by her sister, Norma Scott Hales and her husband, Bobby Hales. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Alisa Scott; one niece, Brenda Scott McCone and her husband, Justin McCone; her great-nephew, Caleb James McCone and his sister, Mylar Jo McCone.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Monday, February 13, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Hamburg with Dr. Bobby Pennington and Bro. Robin Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Flat Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jeff Anderson, Dr. William Foote, Zach Harper, Brent Harrod, Alan Riels, Eddy Tucker, Tim Vaden, and Steven Wilcoxon. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Atkins, Bob Barnes, Ben Carpenter, Daren Cason, Jeff Foote, Joe Foote, Kevin Hicks, Jimmy Murphy, and Stanton Veazey. Music provided by Eugene Gifford and Pam Smith. In lieu of flowers, you may do a kind deed for someone in Mary Ann's memory.

Visitation will be 1:30 – 2 p.m., Monday at the church.
