Funeral Services for Jessie Lee Pitts, Sr., 88, of Dermott, AR, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022. Service will be held at Calvary #1 Missionary Baptist Church, 1001 West Hazel Street, Dermott; Rev. Fells officiating minister.
Jessie was born on May 25, 1933 to Clarence and Mattie Pitts in Portland, Arkansas. After attending high school, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1955. After his tenure with the army, he enlisted in the reserves. He worked for several years with a grocery distribution center here in Dermott and he retired from the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
Jessie passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022, at McGehee-Desha County Hospital, McGehee, Arkansas. He is survived by his spouse Geraldine Pitts of Dermott, AR and two daughters, Sandra Lee McCoy of DeRidder, LA and Lisa Pitts of Dermott, AR. He is preceded in death by one son, Jessie Lee Pitts Jr.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022, from 11:00 - 12:30 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 1001 West Hazel Street, Dermott.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Boydell, AR. Services entrusted to Dillard Funeral Home, 210 North Trotter Street, Dermott.
