John Carl Thines, 85, of Conway, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2022. He was born August 10, 1936 in Morrilton, Arkansas to the late Carl J. and Christine A. (Maus) Thines.
He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Morrilton and Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway. He was a master craftsman, woodworker, and furniture refinisher. John owned The Finishing Workshop, where he worked on many pieces of furniture that are cherished in houses all over the area. He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. John loved hunting, fly fishing, and working with wood. His happiest times were spent with his family surrounding him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Catherine Moix; and his grandchildren, Baby Pruitt and Connor Imboden.
Left to cherish his memory is his best friend and loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy (Zimmerman) Thines; son, Berny (Mandi) Thines; daughters, Paula Pruitt, Vicki (Bo) Moix, and Rene (Craig) Imboden; grandchildren, Ben (Sara), Daniel (Kelsey), Brandi, Austen (Tory), Andrew (Audrey), Kayla (Dylan), Robert, Madeline (Andrew), Matthew, Ella, and Owen; great-grandchildren, Kinley, Cora, Palmer, Amira, Anna, and Bo.
Rosary will be Tuesday, May 17th beginning at 6:30pm, followed by visitation at Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 pm, Wednesday, May 18th, also at Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery.
