*Obituary

Trey Hickey, 24, of Conway, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 29, 2022. He was born May 19, 1997, in Conway, Arkansas. Trey was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Angel Schichtl; and his aunt, Beth Ann Hickey.

Left to walk in his light are his parents, Mike and Chata Hickey; one sister, Kayla Attwood (Hastings); niece, Ellis Maxine Attwood; nephew, Bishop Michael Attwood; and numerous cousins and extended family and friends.

Trey was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a graduate of St. Joseph High School. Trey loved being a St. Joe Bulldog and thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the basketball team while he was there. He helped his grandmother care for his younger cousins. He enjoyed fishing, exploring and collecting unique items. Most of all Trey loved spending time with his family and friends.

From day one Trey was a fighter. He suffered A.L.L. and survived a bone marrow transplant. His greatest strength and best friend in all of those struggles was his sister, Kayla. The treatment took a toll on his body leaving him physically challenged in all his adventures. He never complained or even asked "why me" he just took it all in stride as his cross to bear. This earth has lost its greatest fighter and example of how to walk with God, but heaven has his golden wings waiting at the gate.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of CRMC, CCU team, Robert Darr, Harley, Tawnya, Jamie Colin and Ashley and many more who continued to care for our family above and beyond. Special thanks to doctors; Mary Jo Shavers, Mary Burgess and Tyrone Lee for walking the journey with us.

A rosary will be at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway, Arkansas, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022, with Father Warren Harvey celebrating. Inurnment to follow at St. Joseph Columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Joseph School Endowment Fund in Trey's name.
