Anita Lou Schmidt was born in Decatur Indiana on September 13th, 1940 to her beloved parents Dr. Cover George McClure and Nellie Viola Anderson, who proceeded her in her death on October 22nd, 2021.
She was a bright and vibrant young woman graduating in 1975 from Saddleback Valley College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. She would go on to serve the mental health community in her local county as a Registered Mental Health Nurse for 25 years, all those who knew her said it was her calling. She was a devoted wife to John Schmidt for 58 years, whom she met in college where they enjoyed going to dances.

She was adored by her children Kent Schmidt and Erika Thomas and son-in-law Ted Thomas. She was dearly loved by her grandchildren Theresa, Rachel, Emily, and Anderson; and great grandchildren Lucia, Liana, Nathan, and Landon. As the matriarch of the family her hopeful, faithful, compassionate, and loving spirit will truly be missed.

A rosary for Anita will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1115 College Ave, Conway, Arkansas. Following the rosary will be a funeral mass at 11:00 AM at St Joseph Catholic Church, 1115 College Ave, Conway, Arkansas.
