*Obituary

Allen Weatherly, 64 of Conway, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016. He was born June 12, 1952, in Eureka, California. Allen was raised in the Missouri Ozarks and boasted of a childhood full of baseball, track, and time with his family.

A proud graduate of both Glendale High School and Missouri State University, Allen was a lifelong learner. He dedicated his professional life to Public Television, initially at KOZK and for the past 23 years at AETN. Allen was honored to serve a 6 year term on the National Public Broadcasting Services (PBS) Board of Directors and believed wholeheartedly in the vision of PBS and AETN. A lifelong Methodist, Allen loved and served others with a Wesleyan spirit. Allen enjoyed attending concerts and blues festivals with his wife and friends, reading biographies, attending University of Central Arkansas sporting events, and quizzing his children about Beatles trivia. He proudly celebrated the accomplishments of his children. Nothing made him happier than enjoying life with his wife. In recent years, Allen has gladly become his grandson Logan's official sports photographer.

Allen is preceded in death by his father, Jim Weatherly.

Allen is survived by his wife and best friend, Peggy; daughter Lauren (Geier); son-in-law Trey; son David; and grandchildren, Logan, Jack, and Norah. He is also survived by his mother, Charlotte Boehm, of Nixa, Missouri; brother Michael of Coral Gables, Florida; sister Sharon (Stoddard) of Nixa, Missouri; sister Wanda (Potter) of Nixa, Missouri; and 4 nephews, 2 nieces, and many great-nieces and nephews.

Allen was intensely loyal to his friends and coworkers, considering them a part of his family as well.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 5-7pm at First United Methodist Church, Conway. A Celebration of Allen's life will be Monday, November 7, 2016 at 10:30am at First United Methodist Church, Conway. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to either First United Methodist Church, Conway or Arkansas Educational Television Network.
