Jean Garner, 92, longtime resident of Conway, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013. Jean was born Nov. 17, 1920 in El Dorado, Ark., to the late T.J. and Nettie (Haynie) Dixon.
A graduate of Central Baptist College, Jean married Jim Garner of UCA. After Jim's retirement from International Harvester, they returned to Conway in 1974.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; brother, Dick; older sister, Alta; as well as her lifelong friends, Myrtle Lee Selig and Polly Milam.
She is survived by her son, Michael Garner and wife Peggy; two grandchildren, Bobby Garner and Jamey Garner; her sister, Betty Hahs of Rogers, Ark.; numerous nieces and nephew; and loving friends, Ray Hess and Opal Dunaway.
The family is most grateful for the care administered by the staff at St. Andrew's Place and the support and love provided by Odyssey Hospice.
