William "Jake" Jacob Porter 34 of Hampton, AR went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday June 25th, 2016 at South Arkansas Medical Center in El Dorado, AR. He was born on August 13, 1981 in El Dorado, AR. Jake accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized when he was 13. He was a member of The First Church of Nazarene in Camden, AR.
Jake graduated from Camden Fairview High School in 1999. He earned the Cardinal Award as a baseball player and was also a multi year letterman on both the baseball and football teams. He earned Associate Degrees from SAU Tech. He was employed at General Dynamics for 7 years as a Senior Supervisor. He was proud of his work and enjoyed the people he worked with. Jake was "Superman" to many! He had a huge heart; a contagious smile that would light up any room, and he gave the Best Bear Hugs around. Jake was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheelers and camping with his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his girls. Jake was a loving son, the Best Big brother, a precious grandson, a doting father, an amazing uncle and a friend to many. He will be greatly missed!
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Gene William Porter Sr., Earl Perdue, his great grandparents Robert and Bessie Jones, Samuel and Susan Duncan, Howard Alan and Ila Annie Porter, and Whitney and Noelie Latiolais, and his cousin Daniel Eppinette.
He is survived by his parents Stacey and Terri Porter of Camden; his sister Anna Keene and husband Gary of Camden; his maternal grandparents William and Betty Duncan of Camden; and is paternal grandmother Gloria Perdue of El Dorado; two precious daughters Jayden Porter and Hadley Porter both of Camden; a step-daughter Hannah Parker of Camden; stepsons Todd and Braden; nephew Grayson Keene who Jake adored; Aunt & Uncles; Glenda & Mike Starr of Morrilton, Gene Porter of Atlanta GA, Susan & Hector pages of Florida, Debbie Kelly of El Dorado and Stuart Porter of Smackover and a host of cousins, and many friends.
Visitation will be held at Proctor Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday June 26th. Funeral Services will be held at Grace Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Monday June 27th with interment to follow at Bethesda Cemetery. Dr. Richard Foster and Rev. Kerry Carpenter will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made to The First Church of Nazarene in Camden, AR.
