ROGERS - Earl Lee Fischer, 77, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at Circle of Life in Springdale, Ark. He was born Sept. 23, 1934, in Jonesburg, Mo., to August Theodore Fischer and Lillie Cullom Fischer.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force and worked for McDonnell Douglas on the NASA Gemini Program before moving to Northwest Arkansas to take a position at Daisy Manufacturing company. While there Earl utilized his engineering skills in the Research and Engineering department and was instrumental in the design of many new products. Upon leaving Daisy, Earl started an entrepreneurial career and through the years started may new businesses and ongoing successful corporations, including FM Corporation, of Rogers. Earl impacted many people, was a highly respected businessman and was often sought after for his advice and consultation.
Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Diane Marie Mayer Fischer; two daughters, Teresa Merwin of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Sharon Kaiser and husband Jerry of Greenland, N.H.; three sons, Richard Fischer and wife Tina of Rogers, Ark., Earl Fischer II, of Grapevine, Texas, James Keith Fischer and wife Brenda, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one brother, Raymond Fischer and companion Barney Shepard; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.
Internment will be at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Earl Fischer to the American Cancer Society, 1200 W. Walnut, Suite 2313, Rogers, AR 72714.
