Colonel (Ret.) Henry E. Bielefeld, Jr. died February 7th, 2020 at his home in Little Rock.
Born in Louisville, KY in 1920, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Dorothy M. Bielefeld. He is survived by his daughters, June Hemphill and Jan Zelnick, son-in-law Paul Zelnick, grandchildren David Hemphill (Sarah), Marc Zelnick (Amanda), Julie Lasseter (David), Lauren Strover (Jason), greatgrandchildren Taylor, Aiden, Henry and a wonderful extended family in the Louisville, KY area.

Henry was dedicated to being of service to his country and community. One of seven children, Henry started work delivering newspapers as soon as he could ride a bike. He continued with the newspaper business until he enlisted in the Army at the outbreak of WWII. He made the Army his career, later serving in the Korean War. After retirement, he and Dorothy moved to Little Rock to be close to family. Henry then volunteered at Baptist Health until he was 90. Henry was an active member of St. James UMC and LifeQuest of Arkansas.

The family would like to recognize his special friend, Ardella Roller and loyal friend, Jerry Parham. The family thanks the Saints among us, all the loving caregivers especially Deuana Flowers, Shirley Grooms, Linda Mitchell, Samantha Cardwell, Victoria Wyles, Edwina Henderson and Phyllis Edmondson from SeniorKare.

Service in celebration of a well-lived, full life will held at St. James United Methodist Church on Saturday February 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
