Biography: Marianne Margaret Miller Cardin, age 84, of Little Rock, died December 25, 2007. She was born in Tulsa, Okla., on April 15, 1923, to the late Alfred and Anna (Griffin) Miller. She had been a resident of Presbyterian Village since 1997. Marianne attended school in the Tulsa area during the 1930’s at Kendall, Woodrow Wilson, and Will Rogers High School, class of 1941. She loved music and, for a time, sang with the Joe Linde Orchestra before attending the University of Tulsa, where she was music librarian at KWGS, when she met her husband. Mrs. Cardin was active in county and national political affairs, first in Prince Georges County and later in Montgomery County (Washington D.C. area) where she and her family lived for thirty years. She was a strong supporter of her husband who worked for members of Congress, was a desk editor for the National Broadcasting Company, and was Reserve Broadcast Officer for the Office of the Secretary of the Army. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Bill Cardin; children, Kristin Huddle and husband Lewis Huddle, Jr., of Little Rock, Julie Warling and husband Jay of Beaverton, Ore., Page Cardin and wife Joan of Glencoe, Ill., Tom Cardin and wife Jennie of Kensington, Maryland; and five grandchildren. Services were private for family and nurses and attendants who cared for her the last ten years. Cremation arrangements are by Ruebel Funeral Home of Little Rock, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.
