Joyce Ann Connell, 86, of Searcy went to be with Lord on Thursday, June 8, 2017. She was born February 13, 1931 in Tupelo, Arkansas to the late Hubert Sewell Haney and Goldie Hughes Haney.
She is survived by one daughter; Robbie Angel and son in law Greg Angel, two grandsons; Tyler Angel and Drew Angel both of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and one sister; Sue Maness of Camdenton, Missouri. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bobby D. Connell, and two brothers; Tokey Haney of Searcy and Ben Haney of Austin, Texas.
Joyce was a devoted and caring person always putting God first. She cherished spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandsons. She was a gifted pianist with a beautiful voice and she had a passion for music. She was an accomplished cook and enjoyed cooking for others and sharing her recipes.
As a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Searcy, Arkansas for 63 years, she was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class and Sonshine Singers. She also served as an elementary Sunday school teacher for many years.
Before retiring, Joyce was employed by the Arkansas Department of Employment Security Division, Lightle, Dobbins, and Lightle, Searcy Federal Savings and Loan, and First Security Bank.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday June 12, 2017 at Roller-Daniel Funeral home in Searcy with Bro. David Crouch officiating. Interment will follow the service at Gum Springs Cemetery.
