Leola Gertrude Durham Rouse, 94, of Judsonia, died Monday, March 26, 2012. She was born August 12, 1917 in Higginson to the late William L. and Evelyn G. Phillips Durham.

Mrs. Rouse was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Judsonia where she was the pianist for many years. She enjoyed helping others, and volunteered for many years playing the piano at Oakdale Nursing Home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter D. Rouse; one brother, Wilburn L. Durham; two sisters, Kathryn Durham Johnson and Mary Ella Durham; two nephews, Quentin and Bernice Johnson.

She is survived by one brother, Maurice P. Durham of Higginson; one niece, Donna Durham Breckenridge; one great niece and seven great nephews.

Visiting hours will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 29 at the Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 30 at the Higginson First Baptist Church with interment following at Gum Springs Cemetery.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all the staff at Oakdale Nursing Home for the great care she was given.

Please make a lasting memorial, in lieu of flowers to the Midway Baptist Church, 1149 Hwy 367 North, Judsonia, Arkansas 72081; or to your favorite charity.
