BLACKBURN, Robert Hamilton - (from The Prairie Grove Herald) Mr. Robert Hamilton Blackburn died at his home near Viney Grove on Monday, Aug. 3rd from the infirmities of old age. He was born in Washington county, Indiana on the third day of Dec. 1827 and when two years old moved with his parents to East Tennessee from whence he came to Washington county, Arkansas in 1869 where he has since resided. He was honest in his dealings with all whom he met in the daily walks of life and was a man of sterling worth, beloved and respected by all who knew him. He was a consistent member of the Methodist church and his Bible was his daily companion, a copy of which was placed in his coffin in accordance with his request. He was buried in the Prairie Grove cemetery, the services being conducted by Rev. T.A. Martin, assisted by the Masonic lodge of which he was an honored member. He leaves two sons, W.H. and T.E. Blackburn, and two daughters, Mrs. James Tilley and Mrs. Fee Tilley.
