*Obituary

Leo Everett Hopper of Searcy, affectionately known as “Bub” traded his wheelchair bound body on July 2, 2021 for a new body and life in Glory! Bub was born on August 8, 1959 to the late Leo and Virginia “Jean” Hopper of Higginson. Bub suffered a spinal cord injury at the young age of 20 in a diving accident, however he never ceased to amaze those around him with his creative ways of doing everyday tasks from his chair. He was a die-hard Razorback fan and loved gardening, flowers and being outdoors. Bub loved his community and you could always find him rolling around the city. He attended every festival or event that the city offered and always wanted his picture made with friends, family and all the landmarks in sight. Through his physical limitations he managed to inspire so many people.

Bub was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, and two sisters; June Cupples and Pat Johnson. He leaves behind to cherish his memory three nephews; Edward Foster (Tammy) of Searcy, Cody Foster (Carrie) of Searcy, Toby Hopper (Beth) of Searcy and Jennifer Pulley (Josh) of Vilonia as well a host of cousins, extended family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on July 11th at 3pm at Kensett First Baptist Church.
