Wayne Sams, 56 of Fayetteville, Arkansas formerly of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010 in Fayetteville.
He was born September 7, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan to the late James Boyd and Edith Frances Hamblin, and served in the United States Marine Corps. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jim Sams, and a step mother, Jessie Sams.
Wayne is survived by his two sons, Christopher Wayne Sams of Olathe, Kansas, Nevada Koontz Sams of Harrison, Arkansas; one daughter, Samantha Grant and her husband Cody of Springhill, Louisiana; granddaughter, Madilyn Grant of Springhill; two brothers, Alan Sams and his wife Carrie of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mike Sams and wife Amanda of Harrison, Arkansas; and one niece, Robyn Sams of McNeil, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Bullock officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Seven Hill Homeless Shelter, 828 S. Seven Hills Ct., Fayetteville, Arkansas 72701.
