Michael Wayne Howland, 57, passed away at Harbor Hospice in Houston, Texas December 18, 2015. He was born December 18, 1958 in Conroe, Texas. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Louise Howland.

Michael had worked as a Certified Respiratory Therapist in the past. He had worked at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital at one time. He also worked for The Alvin Sun & Advertiser delivering the papers to the sales racks and apartment complexes until his bout with cancer several months ago. He was very involved working with horses. He had showed Arabians and then went on to show miniatures. He was Vice President of Arabian Riders and Breeders Society of Texas Horse Club.

Michael is survived by his father, Harley Wayne Howland, of Houston, Texas; sister, Deborah Barrett of Iowa Colony, Texas; and nephew, Lee Barrett and wife Amber and their children, Anjali and Aidan of Katy, Texas, and nephew, Lance James and wife, Stephanie and their son, Lance James. Jr. of Katy, Texas.; and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the home of John and Susie Blackwell, 7501 County Road 215A, Alvin, TX 77511, 281-489-5655. Barbecue and ham will be provided. It would be much appreciated if side dishes were brought.
