Monroe Hight, 72, of Magnolia, AR passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Magnolia.

Monroe was born on October 26, 1945 in El Dorado, AR. He served his country in the United States Army Reserves. He was the owner and retired from Monroe’s Exhaust and he also was a jailer and retried from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department. Monroe was still actively working as a bail bondsman.

Monroe was preceded in death by his parents John “Smead” and Mary Frances (Hendricks) Hight; sisters, Peggy Williams, Carlon Hight, and Carolyn Crisp; and brother Jimmy Hight.

He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Davis and husband Jeff of Lawson and Kim Jimerson of Cabot; grandchildren, Jacob Davis and wife Kaitlyn of Sheridan, Maggie Jo Davis, Rusty Davis, and Cameron Davis all of Lawson, Brayden Jimerson of Conway, Kaylee Jimerson, Jase Martin, and Cohen Martin of Cabot; mother of children Phyllis Hight of Magnolia; sisters in law, Incy Johnson, Dorothy Chaffin and husband Lyndell, Corrie Crisp and husband James all of Magnolia; brother in law Jim Wright and wife Mollie of Waldo; cousins, Pam Emerson and husband Scott of Magnolia and Fredia Green of Wesson; niece Debbie Bettis and husband Roland of Village; great niece Layne Bettis of Village; extra daughter Robin Mock Taylor of Taylor; and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lyndell Chaffin officiating and grandsons Bro. Brayden Jimerson and Bro. Jacob Davis assisting. Burial will follow at the New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Davis, Rusty Davis, Cameron Davis, Roland Bettis, Brayden Jimerson, and Jacob Davis.

The family requests memorial donations be sent to the Arkansas Children’s Research Hospital at www.ARChildrens.org
