Harold J. "Pat" Kimbrough, 84, of Batesville died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, in a Jonesboro hospital.

Born Nov. 5, 1921, in O’Neal, he was the son of James Judson Kimbrough and Eva Cowden Kimbrough. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and from cattle farming. He helped establish the Boy Scouts program and the summer baseball program at Southside. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include a son, Steve Kimbrough of Batesville; two brothers, Hansel R. Kimbrough of Batesville and James J. Kimbrough of Jonesboro; three sisters, Vernie M. Marshall of Paragould, Ima Bell Kirksey of Memphis and Ova W. Case of Batesville; two grandchildren, Jodie Diane Kutscher of Marion and Michael Bruce Kimbrough of Vilonia; a great-granddaughter, Alexa Kimbrough; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathryn Kimbrough; a son, Harold Bruce Kimbrough; three brothers, Willard Kimbrough, Willis Kimbrough and Hassel Kimbrough; and an infant sister.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Willis-Hays Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Richard Nuckolls officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jim Thomas, Roy Wyatt, Tim Thomas, Tommy Thomas, Darrell Johnson and Larry Evans.

Honorary pallbearers are Lynn Cantrell, Jim Reynolds, Mike Branscum and L.D. Crow.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
