Elizabeth or Lizzie was born to Arleva Haynes and Henry Hoffman on March 13, 1894 in Osage County, Missouri. She married Dr. Jesse J. Patterson in Cleburne County, Arkansas on 2 September 1917. She lived most of her life in or near Searcy, Arkansas.
She had a son and a daughter. Her son grew up to become a dentist, as was his father.
Her husband died in 1960, and Lizzie out lived him until her death in 1972.
