Paul Edward Phipps, son of the late John William Carl “Mutt” Phipps and Cassie Haney Phipps, was born February 28, 1953 in Larkin, Arkansas. He departed this life October 2, 2020 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 67 years. He was a lifelong resident of Izard County. He spent his life a loving son, brother, husband, uncle, father, grandfather, provider and friend. Most of his working years were spent as a carpenter. Later on he traveled as a boilermaker. He enjoyed playing the guitar, especially preforming special music at church. He was of the Baptist faith and an active member of Fairview Baptist Church. On January 22, 2000, he was united in marriage to Shellia Felton.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Shellia Phipps of the home; two daughters: Tonya Crawford of Melbourne, Misty Baker and husband Jason of Mountain Home; two stepdaughters: Stacey Wheeler and husband Brock and Ashley Lapeer and husband Steven all of Melbourne; seven siblings: Tom Phipps (Kathrean) of Larkin, Dean Phipps of Larkin, Jim Phipps (Melda) of Newburg, Carl Phipps (Sheila) of Jonesboro, Janie Tate (Raybourne), Jerry Phipps (Kathy) of Hickory Ridge and Gay Carpenter (Harold) of Violet Hill; six grandchildren: Dallas Lee, Harper Wheeler, Lillian Rae Norris, Hannah Kay Crawford, Falyn Kay Wheeler and Jaxtyn Baker; one sister-in-law: Carolyn Phipps of Brockwell; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relative and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Gayle Phipps and one sister-in-law: Bonnie Phipps.
A private family memorial service is planned at a later date. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
