Pulaski County,
Arkansas

Feb 11, 1947 - Aug 2, 2021

Roy “Sidewinder” Wayne Higgins, 74, of Jacksonville, drove up to Heaven August 2, 2021. He was born February 11, 1947 in Mineral Point, Missouri to the late Joseph Buryl and Jewel Higgins. In addition to his parents, Roy was welcomed into Heaven by his seven siblings.

Roy was a lifelong truck driver that enjoyed the open road. When he was home, Roy loved going to the casinos and bowling, but more importantly, spending time with his family. He was always young at heart and enjoyed the fun things in life, including poking fun at his grandchildren. Always smiling, it was hard not to instantly be Roy’s friend; he had a heart made of gold and an adventurous spirit that will be remembered forever.

Those left on Earth that will cherish Roy’s memory include his wife, Joann Higgins; daughters, Julie (James) Rogers, Stephanie (Joe) Sansom and Ticie (Zac) Bullock; brother, JB (Colleen) Higgins; grandchildren, Nick Sansom, Dylan Rogers, Kayla Sansom, Taylor Rogers and Brandon “Brick” Bullock; five great-grandchildren; special cousin, Jim (Sharon) Higgins as well as many nieces, nephews and several extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Roy will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Arrangements by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home, 501-982-2136.
