Rodney Wayne Thomas, 67, of Hindsville; passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at home. He was born Friday, June 3, 1955, at Texarkana; to Edgar Wayne and Vera Lucille Callicott Thomas.
He was a skilled heavy equipment mechanic and a hard worker who took on the toughest jobs with enthusiasm. In his spare time, Rodney enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, catfishing, and was proud of his Cherokee heritage. Especially fond of his grandchildren, he loved his family dearly.
Rodney married Brenda Sue McCoy on Tuesday, February 20, 1979 at Gentry; and together they were parents to three children.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Wayne and Vera Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Brenda, of the home; two sons and daughter-in-law, Getty and Megan Thomas, of Clifty; Wesley Thomas, of Springdale; one daughter, Randi Bowerman, of Hindsville; six grandchildren, and one sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and David Cox, of Springdale.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday October 15, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Lone Star school house on highway 45 in Hindsville . Cremation is entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
