Laura Nell Applegate, 84, of Dover, Arkansas, died Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at her home. The daughter of C.A. and Nellie (Cole) Elliott, she was born July 1, 1921 in Dover, Arkansas.
She married Joseph Woodrow Applegate on March 30, 1940 at Russellville, Arkansas.
She retired from the Dover Post Office after 29 years of service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Dover United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Otho Elliott and Charles Joe Elliott; and one sister, Lucille Tuck.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph W. Applegate of Dover, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 17, 2005 at Dover United Methodist Church with Reverend Donna Alberts and Reverend VonDell Mooney officiating.
Active pallbearers will be: Jimmy Davenport, Charles Leonard Elliott, Bill Applegate, Carl Wetzel, Doyle Cobb, and Larry Cotton.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Leonard Elliott and Lynell Elliott.
Burial will be at McFadden Cemetery at Dover by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
