Virginia Hefley, 97, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Legacy Heights Nursing Home.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 3:00PM, Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at McFadden Cemetery in Dover by Humphrey Funeral Service. Rev. Ira Taylor and Rev. Devoe Campbell will officiate.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Hefley; her parents; a daughter, Alyce Hefley and her son, Teddy Hefley Jr.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Hefley (Joetta) of Russellville; eight grandchildren including one special granddaughter, Christy Hefley; 10 great grandchildren including one very special great granddaughter, Paige Kreps; five great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Bobbie Sanders and Shirley Faye Sanders.

The daughter of James Wiley, Sr., and Lear Celeste (Smith) Sanders, she was born August 14, 1924, in Little Rock.

She worked making ammunition during World War II and later as a production worker with International Shoes. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Rogers-Rye Post 2283, and enjoyed selling poppies for the veterans. She enjoyed playing Bingo, thrift store shopping and visiting Booger Hollow Trading Post.
