FAYETTEVILLE— James "Jimmy" Grant Parten Jr., 73, of Fayetteville died July 11, 2004. He was born March 31, 1931, in Santa Ana, Calif., to James Parten Sr. and Jossie Jones Parten. He was an Army veteran. He enjoyed cycling, swimming and reading the Bible. He was a founding member of the Orange County Pioneer Council. He moved to Northwest Arkansas in 2003.
Survivors include one son, James A. Parten and wife Rhonda of Fayetteville; three daughters, Debbie Forbes and husband Dale of Bella Vista, Christine Pingel and husband Warren of Rogers and Cindy White and husband Sherman of Coffeyville, Kan.; two sisters; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at National Cemetery in Fayetteville with Ken Francis officiating.
Memorials may be made to Orange County Pioneer Council, 5401 W. Ash St., Rogers, 72758.
Cremation arrangements are by Stockdale Funeral Services in Rogers.
