October 22, 1958 - November 11, 2021
Jerry Martin Young of Little Rock, Arkansas departed this world on November 11, 2021. Jerry was born on October 22, 1958, in Elwood, Indiana. He was 63.

Jerry is survived by siblings Barbara Young Carter, Jack Young, Loretta Young Chasteen, and Jeffery Young.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Mary Ellen McElfresh Young and Robert Eugene Young Sr., and siblings Lester Young, Chester Young, Robert Eugene Young Jr., and Mary Ann Young Westrick.
He was of the Baptist faith and with the help of the late Brother Larry Ballard, he came to know Jesus and was saved on June 25, 2000 and baptized at Crystal Hill Baptist Church on July 16, 2000.
Jerry loved his country and was a proud U.S. Navy veteran. He was a talented heavy-duty mechanic and could fix about anything. He had his own business 'Young's Road Service' for over 15 years and gained many lifelong friends along the way (teaching many as he went), later moved on to work at several different truck shops, then almost reaching retirement at the current job ABF Freight. Jerry had a great passion for tools, collected them of plenty, and personally knew every Snap-On tool man in Little Rock.
He had a fun loving, storytelling way of living. A simple man, Jerry loved his family, worked hard and loved people in general. He never met a stranger. The stories tended to run long and often got more exciting with the retelling; he just loved to tell them. He had a special way of making you feel important, earning the nickname "The Big Buddy". Jerry had a love for music and would sit for hours with his family listening to different playlists while sharing stories of the days of old. Jerry will be missed so very much my so many.
A gathering to celebrate the life of Jerry Young will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 1:00 pm with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm, both at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR 72211. Jerry will be laid to rest at Rockport Memorial Gardens in Malvern, U.S. 270 Business, Malvern, AR.
