Gary Wayne Collie, age 64 of Lake DeGray, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, December 17, 2017. He was born in Malvern on May 19, 1953 to the late Harold Collie and Jeanette Price Collie. Reared and educated in Malvern, he had been in the automobile sales profession from 1975 until the present, and was the owner of Sulphur Springs Motors.
Gary was the husband of Anna Davis Collie, to whom he was married on June 25, 1988.
He is survived by his wife, Anna, of the home; by his children, Brian Collie and his wife, Melissa, of Glen Rose, Stephanie Collie and her husband, Darrell Boles of Friendship, Skipper Wright and his wife, Karyn, of Liberty City, Texas, Gunnar Wright and his wife, Bridget, of Roland, Oklahoma, and Dara Craft and her husband, Brian, of Frisco, Texas; his brother, Ronnie Collie and his wife, Barbara, of Malvern; his grandchildren, Matthew and Lucas Collie, Joseph, Kyle, and Bailey Wright, Caiden Pierce and Kayla Edmondson, and Madison, Makenzie, and Morgan Craft; three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, December 20, 2017 from six until eight o'clock.
His funeral will be Thursday afternoon at two o'clock in the funeral home chapel with Mike Prince leading the service.
Interment will follow in Rockport Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Brian Collie, Leroy Williams, Kelly Harris, Mike Cox, David Vann, Reggie Cornelius, and Eric Broughton, Sr.
