Madelene Harwell Edwards, 96, of Dover, died Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Dardanelle Nursing Center. The daughter of the late True and Ethel Forrest Harwell, she was born February 7, 1913 in Dover. She married Sgt Major Larry Edwards on February 10, 1933. She was a retired teacher with Dover School System. She was a charter Member of the Dover First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Sgt Major Larry Edwards; a sister Laura Frances Harvey.
Survivors include; one daughter, Linda True Rush and husband Bobby of Russellville; one granddaughter, Laura True Rush of Denver Colorado; a nephew, Bobby Edward Harvey and wife Marye; a niece, Joyce Ann Spurgeon and husband Mike; a number of much loved cousins and family friends; two dear friends, Judy McMinn and Jane Varnell cared for her for a number of years, special little friends who brought much joy to Mrs. Edwards are Kylee Linton, Areli and Mila Booher. The family wishes to thank Dr. Dale Barton for his many years of care.
Funeral will be at 10:00AM, Friday, October 2, 2009 at First Baptist Church at Dover. Dr. Jeff Paxton will officiate. Burial will be at McFadden Cemetery at Dover, under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Thursday, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Butch Booher, Terry Don Booher, David Wilbanks, Boyce Ragsdale, Heartsel Hankins, and State Representative Robert Dale.
