This community was shocked last Saturday morning by the report that Dr. D.P. Ruff of Dover had died at his home the night previous. He leaves a wife, two sons and a little daughter behind to mourn his lost.

Dr. Ruff attended Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee where he graduated in 1878. He married Minnie Truett November 7, 1878.

December 31, 1861 - August 15, 1946
Mrs. D.P. Ruff, aged 85, of Dover, died at St. Mary's hospital Thursday night following an illness of several months.
She was formerly Miss Minnie Truett, a native of Point Peter, Searcy county. She was the daughter of the late H.M. and Elizabeth (Petty) Truett. She was married to Dr. D.P. Ruff when a young woman, and the family moved to Dover in 1882. Dr. Ruff died in 1901.
She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church. Survivors are one daughter, Miss Elizabeth Ruff, and one son, Dr. S.W. Ruff, both of the home, and one grandchild, D.M. Ruff of St. Louis, Mo.
