May 23, 1927 - August 12, 2017
Robert E. Leavell, Sr., 90, of Russellville, passed peacefully into glory on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Stella Manor Nursing Home in Russellville.
The son of John and Winnie Truett Leavell, he was born May 23, 1927 in Shelby, MS.
He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korea War and was stationed in Japan during the war. He was retired from Standard Rendering and was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Leavell; his parents; and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Velda Frazier(Keith), Russellville; his son, Robert E Leavell, Jr. (Tina), Vienna, MO; 3 grandchildren, Christopher Collins (Ashley)Russellville, Kimberly Campbell (Justin), Dover, Cole Robertson (Savanah), Vienna, MO; 5 great-grandchildren, Presley Collins, Emersyn Collins and Carter Roach, all of Russellville, Addison Robertson and Brooklyn Robertson, Vienna, MO; life-long friend, Leonard Elliott.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00AM, Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at McFadden Cemetery under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Dr. Steve Mosley will officiate.

August 18, 1930 - November 28, 2014
Betty Leavell, 84, of Russellville, went home to be with her heavenly Father Friday November 28, 2014, surrounded by her family, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. The daughter of William and Ruby Bradley Massingill, she was born August 18, 1930 in Dover. She married Robert E. Leavell Sr., on September 21, 1946. Betty was a faithful wife and mother. She was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she was active in Cumberland Presbyterian Women organization and was a Golden Ager. She enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, flower gardening, and loved spending time with her grandbabies. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Emalene Hill.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Robert E. Leavell, Sr; one daughter, Velda Frazier (Keith) of Pottsville; one son, Robert E. Leavell, Jr. (Tina) of Vienna, MO; two grandchildren, Christopher Collins (Ashley), Kimberly Campbell (Justin); step-grandson, Cole Robertson (Savannah); four great-grandchildren, Presley Collins, Emersyn Collins, Carter Roach and Addison Robertson.
Graveside Service will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at McFadden Cemetery, burial to follow by Humphrey Funeral Service.
