Roy E. Cheatham 79, of Benton died June 6, 2011 at his home. He was born August 7, 1931 in Malvern to Joe Guss and Katie Mae Gray Cheatham. Roy was a member of Sharon Baptist Church of Benton. He was a loving husband, father and friend. Roy loved to garden and watch football every Sunday afternoon. He is survived by his wife, of 38 years Ruby Gilbert Cheatham; 2 sons, James Wolff of Austin, TX. and Rusty Cheatham of Mt. Pleasant, TX. 2 daughters, Cindy Cheatham Martin of Mt. Pleasant, TX. and Carol (Mike) Clearwater of Cheshire, OR. and sister-in-law Pat Cheatham. Roy has 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. Roy is preceded in death by his Mother, Father, 2 brothers James Happy Cheatham and Dr. Joe Cheatham. Pallbearers: Lynn Cox, Roger Draper, Don Ipock, and Allen Reeves Special Caregivers: Dorothy and Lynn Cox, Mary and Roger Draper, Linda Catlett, Don and Shari Ipock Visitation: Thursday June 9, 2011 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. with service following at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment at Rockport Memorial Gardens, Malvern. Arrangements entrusted to Atkinson Funeral Home (501)332-2711.
