Doris Rowe Norton, 86 of Randall (Cleveland County) died Thursday at Gardner Nursing Center. She was born September 6, 1927 in the Holly Springs Community near Rosston to the late Garland and Ilene Franks McKissack. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Star City. Also preceding her in death was her first husband, William Jewell Rowe; a very beloved daughter-in-law, Sandra Pickens Rowe; and a brother, Vaughn McKissack. Survivors include her husband, John R. Norton of Randall; son, William "Bill (Brenda) Rowe; daughter, Sharon (Olen) Bates, both of Star City; brother, Jimmie Don (Christine) McKissack of Pine Bluff; 4 grandchildren, Sonya Peterson, Sommer Cook, Stephanie Burnham and Meredith Bennett; several great-grandchildren; multiple member's of John's family and a host of very special friends and family. Funeral services are 10:00AM Saturday at First Baptist Church in Star City with Bro. Kevin Herrington and Bro. Kenny Martin officiating. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00PM Friday at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City. Graveside service is 3:00PM Saturday at Waldo Cemetery near Magnolia. In lieu of lowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Service in Star City.
